Think of the Motorola W385 as a kind of KRZR lite. It carries much of the same style as the Motorola KRZR without the higher price tag. This difference between the two phones primarily stems from the lack of features present in the Motorola W385 compared to other mid-high end Motorola products, making the Motorola W385 sit squarely amongst the mid range market. Nevertheless, the Motorola W385 is a great phone for the person who wants the KRZR style without the extra features.

The Motorola W385 is a CDMA phone, so it can only be used in America and a couple of other places in the world. However, unlike the majority of other CDMA phones, the Motorola W385 lacks any 3G support, meaning that you are limited to data transfer using the much slower CDMA2000 data transfer network.

In terms of measurements, the Motorola W385 is very small and light, rivaling even the RAZR in many dimensions. The Motorola W385 measures in at approximately four inches by two inches by half an inch and weighs 110 grams. On the other hand, unlike the RAZR, which has always been plagued by battery problems, the Motorola W385 allows for up to 249 minutes of talk time or 450 hours of standby time on a single charge.

The displays mounted on the Motorola W385 are nothing special. Small and cheap, like the phone itself, the main display on the Motorola W385 provides 128 pixels by 160 pixels and only shows 65 thousand colors. The exterior display is black and white.

As far as other features go, the Motorola W385 has only the bare essentials. There is a 0.3 Megapixel digital camera with digital zoom features, GPS support, a speakerphone, Bluetooth support, and a variety of voice dialing options.

Pros

-Small and stylish
-Lower price tag than similar Motorola phones

Cons

-No 3G support
-Lack of features

Overall

The Motorola W385 is a perfect example of style over substance. While this would be bad in many cases, not so in the phone world, as this design choice makes the Motorola W385 the perfect phone for those who don't like fancy bells and whistles but still want an attractive device.
