There is only one way to sum up the Motorola W160. It would have been an awesome cell phone at the turn of the millennium. Now, however, the Motorola W160 is just a relic of the past that happens to have been released only recently. This is a device that you should avoid, as it just isn't worth it in a world where even free devices are loaded with far more features.

The Motorola W160 is a small and light device, weighing in at only 85 grams and measuring in at 4.5 inches by 1.7 inches by a half an inch. It also packs in a battery that is very impressive, managing to reach nearly 10 hours of talk time or 465 hours of standby time on a full charge.

However, the size and the form factor are where all of the goodness of the Motorola W160 ends. First off, the Motorola W160 is bound to America with its dual band GSM reception capabilities. This means you can never take the phone with you on a trip to most other places in the world.

Secondly, the screen is very small with a low resolution, allowing only 128 pixels by 128 pixels. And to make things worse, the screen is black and white. Black and white in this day and age. There are calculators out there with better screens than the Motorola W160.

Thirdly, the included features are few and far between. There is an address book, but it can only store 100 names. This might not sound too bad, but considering that even the other low end Motorola phones can store 500 names, the 100 name limit on the Motorola W160 is pathetic. Other features include an FM radio, a USB connector for charging, and a speakerphone.

Pros

-Small and light
-Huge battery life

Cons

-Little to no features
-Black and white low-resolution screen
-Barely any phone book memory

Overall

The Motorola W160 is a phone that is out of its place in the world. It should have been released nearly a decade ago, as that's when it would feel more at home. This phone is not recommended when there are other phones of comparable price with far more features and a much better look than the Motorola W160.
