Are you looking for a wire binding machine that s durable and packed with great features? If so, you should consider taking a look at the E Titan Wire L. Here are the strengths and weaknesses of this device.

Strengths:

* The E Titan has an impressive punching capacity because it has DFG s popular TurboPunch feature. The dies are strong enough to handle an amazing 28 sheets of paper at once, which is one of the best punching capacities around. The punch is operated by a foot pedal, making the entire process much faster.

* The hole pattern this device produces has a 2:1 pitch. That means that there will be two holes per inch along the edge of your paper. The holes are rectangular and 5/32 wide. They can be placed near to or far from the edge because this machine has a depth of punch margin control.

* If you want to work with documents of varying sizes, you can definitely do so with the E Titan because it has an open throat. All 21 of its dies are disengageable so you can punch paper of just about any size.

* The E Titan can work with all 2:1 wire binding spines. This will enable you to use spines as thin as 3/16 and as thick as 1 1/4 and every size in between. No matter which spine you use, you ll get great results because this device has a CloseAssist feature that will ensure the spine is completely closed.

* Selecting the right spine won t be difficult because this device has a spine selector. Just measure your book s thickness and the machine will fill you in on what size spine you need.

* This is one of the most durable machines you can buy. It s made completely out of metal so you ll be able to bind lots of documents for years to come.

* Finally, the E Titan comes with a one year warranty.

Weaknesses:

* This device is only compatible with 2:1 wire spines. You cannot use 3:1 spines with it nor can you use plastic combs or color coils.

* You may find using the wire closer somewhat difficult because it s on the top of the device. You ll have to be careful when moving your document to the closer to make sure the pages don t come out of the spine. A better and more convenient location for it would be on the front so you could avoid this scenario.

* The E Titan is very industrial looking so it s not the machine to get if you want something a little more stylish. Plus the handle is on the right hand side of the device. This is great for right handed users, but not so much for those who are left handed.

Overall, the E Titan would be a terrific choice if you want a wire binding machine that has a lot of features such as disengageable dies. The punching capacity can t be beat and it s great that you can use different sizes of spines. While this device does have a couple of drawbacks (like the location of the wire closer), it nonetheless is worth a closer look.
