Although it certainly is possible for you to make money on the Internet by doing a single thing, it is a much better idea if you spread yourself out in some way or another. Doing this is known as following multiple streams of income and it is a strategy that you should employ. Here are some of the different methods of making money that should be used in order to expand your business.
Affiliate Marketing This is what most people who start working on the Internet begin using almost immediately. As a matter of fact, some people are so successful with affiliate marketing that end up never spreading themselves any further. It is certainly possible for you to make a sustainable income by marketing other people s products but even in this single method, you should make sure to spread yourself out a little bit. If the sector that you re working and should happen to crumble underneath you, you want to make sure that you have something else to pick you up. I ve seen it several times for myself, and it happens regularly.
Article Marketing This is more of a method of marketing rather than a business, but marketing with articles can actually be a business all of its own. Writing articles that are centered on specific keywords and then submitting them to the article directories can send you traffic for a very long time. Although I would not necessarily focus my entire business on this method, I do make sure to submit at least a few articles every day and I see results from it.
Having Your Own Product Eventually, you re going to want to have your own product if you really want to build your business to unprecedented levels. Not only do you get to keep all of the profit for yourself, you can also have an army of affiliates who are selling the products for you. Remember the 80/20 rule, 80 of your business is going to come from 20 of your customers. If you have affiliates driving customers to you, that 80 can grow quite a bit.
Owning a List If you have a list of people that you can market to regularly in your niche, you have a sustainable income all of its own. This can either be a traditional e mail list or it can also be a list of followers in social media, such as on twitter or face book. Making sure that you build a relationship with these people as individuals will ensure that you have a business for a very long time, one that cannot be shut down because of shifts in the Internet that take you by surprise.
