What Are The Different Kinds Of Acne?

Just when you thought that you already have enough with acne, you realize that there are many kinds of them. The worst thing is that they could appear all together, making acne much harder to combat.

Nevertheless, knowledge of what they are would help you determine the first signs of acne and allow you to prevent their spread:

Blackheads

It’s easy for you to spot blackheads, especially if you have fairer skin. They would normally appear like black small spots on your nose and other parts of your face, particularly those that have high oil production.

You get blackheads when dead skin cells, bacteria, and sebum or oil produced by the body combine at the surface of your skin. They are colored black because your melanin reacts to the oxygen that gets into your pores. The biggest problem with blackheads is that they are very difficult to remove. If you want them to be gone for a long time, you must make sure that you can pull them out from the roots.

Whiteheads

Whiteheads are more obvious to those who have darker skin. However, if you’re too cautious about your own, you can instantly find them lingering on the oily parts of your nose and face. Whiteheads appear as such because the combination of bacteria, dead skin cells, and sebum is all trapped onto the pore. They are usually a little bumpy, which can easily tempt you to pop them (this is not advisable if you don’t know how to do it effectively).

Nodules

They usually appear if you already have the more severe types of acne. They are definitely larger and more painful than the other two. When they heal, there’s a huge chance that they could leave scars on your face, back, neck, or wherever they appear. When left untreated, they could definitely last for several months.

Acne Rosacea

This is another common acne type. They normally develop on men and women who are more than 30 years old. They are more common on the former, but the latter tend to develop more serious cases of rosacea.

The skin problem is characterized by the presence of redness on the different parts of your face such as the forehead, chin, and cheeks. The redness would mean the presence of different kinds of skin blemishes, including whiteheads and pimples. Rosacea sufferers don’t get blackheads. The disorder can cause the growth of an extra tissue or perhaps leave your nose bloated.

Rosacea Fulminans

This kind of acne only happens to women who are from 20 to 40 years of age. They are considered as rosacea since fulminans can affect the same regions affected by the former. However, the pimples and whiteheads are transformed into large nodules and sores that, when treated ineffectively, would definitely leave scars on the area. The skin disorder doesn’t last for a very long time, unlike the others that would definitely go on for years. However, their development can be very rapid despite the short span of time.
