As one of the giants of the computer industry, Hewlett Packard, more commonly known as HP, has found its place in almost all the offices and households. The company has a large range of computers, laptops and different other computer accessories.

If we look at the history of HP, it was established in 1939 by two classmates Dave Packard and Bill Hewlett. Their first product was an audio oscillator, which was an electronic device used by the sound engineers. Well, since the very beginning, they were making it large. After all, the Walt Disney Studios was one of the first customers of the HP. They used these oscillators to make their movie Fantasia.

However, these days the company is better known for the HP computers and other products in the information technology industry. They have revolutionized the printing technology along with the computers. In recent times, HP has substituted Dell computers in terms of computer sales and shipments.

In the year 2002, HP added another feather to their crown as Compaq Inc. merged with the company to make it the biggest entity in the computer industry. This acquisition enabled HP to surpass IBM/Lenovo, Dell and other big names in the industry and both HP computers and HP laptops were much in demand.

Along with the personal computers, the HP laptops too, are ruling the market. Presently, HP has four different categories of laptops for different target. Each of the categories is however, are among the leaders in similar category.

The versatile performance laptops are the commonest version. With a 15.4” screen, these laptops comprise of hard drives ranging from 120 GB to 320 GB and RAM ranging between 1 GB and 4 GB. They have Bluetooth and wifi. With a price tag somewhere between $500 and $1,100, these laptops weigh around 7 pounds. Among the version in this category are dv5z, dv6700t and dv5t models of HP Pavilion series.

Well, if you are looking for more convenience in carrying the laptop, you should go for the mobility category. Here the screen ranges between 12.1” to 14.1”. However, the hard drive and the RAM remain that same. These models too, have wifi and Bluetooth. However, because of their small stature, they are much lighter, with a weight around 4.5 to 5.3 pounds. The dv2700t, tx2500z, dv4z and dv4t of HP Pavilion are some of the examples of this category. However, the price tag is somewhere between $650 and $1,200.

The entertainment powerhouse laptops are the replacement of desktops. They have a screen between 17” and 20.1”. With hard drives ranging from 120 GB to 640 GB, and RAM between 2 GB and 4 GB, they allow you to use quality graphics card. They have more extensions than ordinary counterparts. They are heavier with weight hovering within 4.6 and 15.3 pounds. Also, they are more costly with a price tag ranging from $800 to $1,900.

Finally, there are the special edition laptops that are distinguished from others with different features and looks. Basically, they are a mixture of the mobile and versatile performance, though more costly with price ranging from $770 to $1000.
