The beauty about this type of social marketing is the fact that it is still fairly new in the eyes of most people. There will come a day whenever it reaches a saturation point and at that time, the newness will have worn off and many people will simply use it as a way of contacting people that they know, similar to using their cell phone to contact a specific number of people. Until that time, the opportunity stands for you to gather a list of tens or perhaps even hundreds of thousands of people who will be listening to everything that you have to say.
It is important that you don t abuse social media, because people will quickly remove you from their list if you do. One way that you could abuse the system is by spamming people with constant links to affiliate programs or sales messages. People use these networks in order to connect with other people, not to hear somebody talk about something that they have for sale. Make sure that you are using most of your contact with them to provide something of use and then every once in a while, send out something that will make you some money.
Social media is here to stay and it is something that you should take advantage of now. In doing so, you will be able to grow a business that will be sustainable for many years to come.
