List building is a skill every internet marketer should master since it s such an important factor to your sales. The bigger your list is, the more people you have to email to and tell them about your promotions. Here are 5 places where you can build list in.

1. Squeeze pages

On your website, you should have several web pages offering your prospects a bonus which they can download by signing up to your list.

These squeeze pages work well in building a list but you need to know that you have different prospects with different needs for your products. If you re selling toys, some children are more interested in Batman, while some are more interested in Transformers.

Therefore, you need to have several squeeze pages with different offers to build your list. Cater for the different types of prospects and don t rely on just one squeeze page to build your list.

2. Thank you page

When people sign up to your list, direct them to a tell a friend page and offer another bonus if they refer some of their friends to your squeeze page.

If your additional bonus is good, your subscribers will want to help you spread your message. Doing this can easily multiply the number of subscribers you ll have.

3. Blog posts

You must have a blog for your online business. It s a very easy way to generate new content on the internet. Most blogs have an optin form on the side to collect emails, and it is effective.

However, you can make your list building more powerful in your blog by asking for people to subscribe to your list at the end of the posts.

If you ve written a post reviewing a laptop, at the end provide a link or an optin form for people to subscribe to your list to download a report on how to choose a laptop.

Your visitors reading the blog post are very likely to sign up if they enjoyed your post. Doing this can add many subscribers to your list.

4. Ebooks/Reports

With any free or paid reports that you give out, always have a link to your website and products with a call to action. Ask the readers to sign up to your newsletter for articles, tips and gifts.

You are doing this because your subscribers or customers who s email address you already have, may pass your report or ebook to their friends. So if your content is good, these readers may want to subscribe to your list too.

5. Remote Sites

Remote sites are websites which you don t own. For example, Squidoo and Hubpages. These are authority sites that rank well in the search engines. Since these websites are free for you to post your articles to, why not use them to market your website?

Write a good article on your niche and ask the readers to subscribe to your list to get a free report. Also with the content on these remote sites, place links to your different squeeze pages.

There are many other places where you can build a list in. The 2 important factors for signing up visitors from your squeeze page is the free report and the design of your squeeze page. Once these two important factors are in place, you can focus on driving traffic to the squeeze pages and build you list.
