Some people believe that learning to sing on pitch is difficult, this is not true. Learning to sing on pitch is easy if you just take time to practice. For some people, once they get used to it they pick up easily. The only requirement is for you to understand the details behind pitch and how you can learn to sing with the right pitch. It’s just in the beginning that you think it’s difficult to learn but in the long run you get the right pitch.

It is not for everyone to learn to sing on pitch, there are other people who cannot learn, but it’s only a portion. A lot of people will be able to teach themselves to learn. For you to learn to sing on pitch you must have the ability to hear the pitch, which means you have to study it. If for any reason you cannot tell the difference between notes, which is maybe due to hearing loss, then probably you will learn to sing on pitch. And this concept is called tone deaf, where a person has no capacity to hear a note. If a person fails to distinguish between a note to another, then he is termed tone deaf. If a person is tone deaf, then he will never be able to learn to sing on pitch.

It is important for you to hear a note to learn to sing on pitch, this is the number one requirement. It will not involve much singing in the first steps in learning to sing on pitch, the most important thing here is becoming familiar with the notes, how they sound and you must be able to differentiate the sound between notes. You need to be able to master and recognize the notes and mimic what you hear. This concept is called ear training, it involves developing how your ears hear and recognize notes and listening to scales.

After you are done with ear training and you feel that you’re good enough, you now begin on matching the notes and try perfecting your pitch. Your voice will perfectly blend with the note when you are singing with pitch. It is best that you start off with the single notes. You can also use a musical instrument to play the note, and most often the piano is used. I advise that one by one you choose a scale that is mid range and work with the notes.

By the time you are more comfortable working with the notes, then that is the time you try to sing the whole scale on pitch. As you are now ready to sing on pitch, try a song that is very simple like Happy Birthday.

For a lot people, singing on pitch does not come immediately, you have to work on it all the time and take time to practice and put your heart on it for you to learn fast. You should stay focus on how to learn to sing on pitch, and in time you can sing very well.
