The Shredmaster GDM10 and GDHS7 are GBC s newest offerings for the small and medium sized office. Both of these units have a very generous 13 gallon wastebasket allowing you to spend more time shredding and less time hauling away waste. Both the GDM10 and GDHS7 are micro cut machines with fairly high security ratings: the GDM10 has a Level 4 rating, while the GDHS7 is a Level 5 shredder. These two machines can handle anything you feed them, including paper (up to 10 sheets at once with the GDM10), staples, credit cards, and more, so your office will be no match for an identity thief. Finally, although these shredders aren t really small enough to find under a desk, they do come with casters so it s no problem to move them around. Be aware that high security comes with a higher price ($500.00 to $800.00). But it delivers a superior level of security that is well worth the price.
Commercial Grade Shredders
These are the kings of the shredding world and GBC has come out with some truly impressive machines in this category. All five of GBC s new commercial grade shredders can pulverize paper and other types of media, and they each have a massive 30 gallon wastebasket. If you are doing a lot of shredding of sensitive documents, get a machine from this category. The GLS28 is a Level 2 strip cut shredder that can handle an astonishing 28 pages at once. And then there s the GLX20 and GLM11 that have lower page shredding capacities (20 and 11, respectively), but they also offer higher security levels, so they re great for doctor s offices and banks. And finally, there s the GLHS9. The GLHS9 is the granddaddy of this category. It s a remarkable micro cut shredder that offers Level 5 security and continuous operation as it shreds up to 9 sheets of paper per pass.
