Small offices have unique needs, and that includes document shredding. Designed with the smaller business in mind, the Dahle 20314 is a cross cut shredder that offers Level 3 security and brings you into compliance with federal regulations. The 20314 is designed to be placed in a general use area within a small office and to be used by your team members throughout the day. Here are 5 good reasons to consider the Dahle 20314 for your business.

1. Security. The 20314 is a Level 3 security paper shredder, meaning that it will bring your business into compliance with the federal regulations concerning the destruction of the personal and confidential information of your clients, customers, and employees. Known as FACTA, these regulations were created to help stem the rising tide of consumer fraud and identity theft by mandating that when businesses discard certain kinds of information, they do it in a way that helps keep that information from falling into the wrong hands. Non compliance with FACTA regulations can lead to fines, and/or liability claims being sought against you and that is something no small business can afford.

2. Capacity. In the world of paper shredding, along with higher security usually comes diminished sheet capacity. The 20314, however holds its own in that regard by offering you a sheet capacity of up to 15 sheets at a time, and up to around 400 sheets per day, which is pretty impressive for a small to mid size Level 3 cross cut machine. With the 20314 you don t have to sacrifice productivity in the name of higher security.

3. Cutting System. There are a lot of other shredders out there that employ a system of stacked cutting knives. Unfortunately, these can bow and bend over time leading to paper jams and worse. The 20314, on the other hand, features cutting cylinders that are perfectly matched and milled out of a single bar of the finest German steel. The cylinders are turned using a gear and chain system that eliminates slipping and powers though paper jams. To top it off, Dahle offers a lifetime warranty on the 20314 s cutting blades and two years on the rest of the machine.

4. Quiet Operation. In a small office situation, things can sometimes get a little bit busy and cramped, and it can be difficult to keep distractions to a minimum. Dahle designed the 20314 with office noise in mind. They have encased the cutting shafts in steel, and placed them on rubber shock mounts. This reduces the amount of vibration to the cabinet (which is made of solid, sound dampening wood), and results in whisper quiet operation.

5. Ease of Operation. A multiple user machine should be as easy to figure out as possible, and the 20314 couldn t be simpler. There is a single toggle switch that gives you the choice between automatic on and off, continuous run, and reverse. Also, there is a system of visual warning indicators to let you know when the shred bin needs to be emptied. For most users, all you will need to do to use this shredder is feed the paper into the throat. The shredder will do the rest. Just remember to oil the machine occasionally and empty the bag when necessary. It doesn t get much easier than that.
