Tips For Comprehensive Dental Practice Marketing

We all know that the best kind of dental health care approach is one that includes all facets of the patient’s health – recognizing the important role that dental hygiene plays in one’s overall well being. Regular visits to the dentist are essential, for example, but so are a healthy balanced diet of nutritious foods and a schedule of appropriate physical exercise. Daily brushing and flossing is critical, but it also helps if the patient understands why. Knowing that healthy teeth and gums contribute to overall health and can even help to prevent serious illnesses like heart disease, for instance, can provide the proper motivation for maintaining one’s dental hygiene. A beautiful smile doesn’t just look great, for example, but it can have a tremendous positive impact in terms of one’s emotional feelings and psychological outlook.

In the same way, for any dental practice marketing campaign to be truly effective and successful it needs to also be well rounded, coordinated, carefully thought out and planned, and have a cohesive plan involving numerous contributing factors and strategically unified elements.

Those include the logo – which is often much more powerful than dental practices realize because not only does the overall visual concept relay important information about the practice but the colors themselves can have a dramatic effect on patients. An intelligently designed logo, on the other hand, not only impresses patients with its professionalism and positive impact, but the dominant colors and shapes in the logo can have a subtle but powerful effect that calms, relaxes, and reassures.

The same goes for the all important website and the quality of the writing and graphics that are displayed on it. When a site is easy and fun to use, is loaded with valuable educational information about dental issues and procedures, and when it is obviously state of the art, that communicates to patients that the entire dental practice is likewise first class, helpful, supportive, and cutting edge.

Combine a strong branding strategy that is bolstered by an attractive logo and great website with other marketing tools – like professionally written and designed newsletters, effective full color postcard mailings, Internet search engine optimization with ongoing website development, and client referral programs – and you benefit from an entire package of synergistic resources. All of them work together to create a successful marketing outcome that is much more potent than its own separate individual components.

As they say, the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. That’s true in marketing just as it is true when talking about a multi faceted approach to dental health and well being. That’s why it always more cost effective and smart to invest advertising dollars with an agency or marketing company that does not just provide one product or service – or several in a piecemeal and disjointed manner – but instead provides a dynamic and strategically coordinated marketing package.
