All golfers whether professionals or amateurs know that they have to develop powerful swings to be good at the game. The ability of having good driving distances is an integral part of any golf game and should be the aim of all golfers.

Improving the driving distance off the tee or with any golf club requires increased clubhead speed. Clubhead speed is derived from the power in your golf swings and thus increasing the power in your golf swing will improve your clubhead speed.

So how can we improve and increase the power of golf swings then? Basically there 3 components to it. They are the efficiency of our golf swing mechanics, strength and power generating capacities of our body and of course, our equipments also play a somewhat essential part.

Efficient golf swing mechanics allows you to generate the greatest amount of power developed within your golf swing into the club to drive the golf ball.

Inefficient swing mechanics creates what is called an energy leak within your golf swing. Thus because of the energy leaks, less power is generated to the club and the ball. This is because large amounts of energy are lost during the inefficiency of the mechanics of the swing. Therefore to improve your clubhead speed and the power outputs, it is necessary to develop efficient golf swing mechanics.

Secondly, equipment does play a role in your clubhead speed. The technological advances in both club and golf balls can have an amazing effect in your game. So it is important to get the correct club and ball for your game. Matching up your swing and speed with a good club will get the most out of your clubhead speed.

Next, your body and your physical fitness has a direct affect on the clubhead speed. After all, it is your body swinging the club which generates the strength and power within the mechanics of the golf swing. This means that developing power within your golf swing is directly related to the ability of your body to generate strength and power. This is where golf fitness training will come in very useful. So to those of you who want to develop good powerful swings, you must take up a good golf fitness training program to develop the muscles needed in powerful swings.

I can t emphasize this more. Golf fitness training exercises increase the ability of your body to generate power within the golf swing resulting in much more powerful clubhead speed.

A good golf swing is both a linear and rotational movement of the body composed of finite biomechanical movements performed in a specific order. Timing of each each bodily movement is also important to bring the most out of the swing.

Therefore in order to perform the mechanics of the golf swing at its most efficient level, it is necessary for the body to have certain levels of balance, flexibility, endurance, strength, fitness and power. If you do develop these physical abilities, your swing will definitely suffer from it and so your ability to perform the mechanics of the golf swing efficiently to generate strength and power will be largely compromised. So start by improving the power of your swing by developing these bodily capabilities from a good golf fitness training program.

There is no single exercise that can improve the power of your swings and all espects of your swing mechanics must be worked on and that include a combination of flexibility, balance, strength, endurance, fitness and power training exercises that enhance the clubhead speed.

By taking up a comprehensive golf fitness training program, you will undoubtedly put much more strength and power into your clubhead speed, driving distances and of course, your overall performances of your favorite game.
