Shuffleboard is an interesting game played between two players. Both of the players stand at one end of the table at the beginning of game. The toss decides which player shoots first and the color of weights that they will get. The second shooter is at an advantage and gets the last shot of the game. The point is scored by the first player by pushing the puck towards end of the shuffleboard. The second opponent tries to knock off or overtake the first player s puck by pushing their weight. Each player plays an alternate shot with a total of eight shots in the game. The last remaining puck or the puck which is nearest to the scoring area wins.

The shuffleboard game tables are easily portable, and the players can enjoy the game in parks, gaming centers or at home. The game is equally enjoyed outdoors and indoors. The shuffleboard tables come in different sizes to suit the dimensions of almost any playing room. Most common shuffleboard tables are between 12 to 14 feet in size.

A shuffleboard table used at home is usually smaller and may not suit players preparing for tournaments and leagues that require the use of larger tables so they can have more space and opportunities to score points.

Most shuffleboard tables are wood and are often handmade. The wood surface is covered by polymer or silicone so the weight will glide easily over it. The highest quality tables are made with high quality maple, walnut or other dried woods. The protective coat lasts for a long time and keeps the surface smooth and shiny.

There are two different types of shuffleboards: one with gutters and another with cushioned bank boards. The playing technique is different on these two tables. With shuffleboard tables that have gutters, the weights are considered out if they get off the board. The boards with cushioned banks have technique similar to pool or billiards. The result of the game changes with each shot as pucks can move positions and can also be bounced out of the scoring area.

You can find a multitude of them online for sale but I would never advise anyone to buy a new one. Chances are you will be someone s junk when buying a new one would come with a manufacturer warranty and for not much more money. Also ask all pertinent questions prior to purchasing to avoid having to repack and reship back to the retailer. Stores located on the web have some of the best prices because they have little or no overhead thus passing the savings to the client, you!

Shuffleboard is very interesting to play and can be enjoyed by everyone in the house specially the kids they find them a lot of fun and is a healthier alternative to personal computer games (PC games). The tables are budget friendly and can be purchase to fit into almost any home game room. The shuffleboard tables help friends, families, and guests relax and raise that healthy competitive spirit in everyone. If you ve never played a game of shuffleboard, what are you waiting for?
