A lot of people make the mistake of thinking that the popular weight loss supplement Fastin is a branded version of phentermine hydrochloride. This notion is wrong. Fastin food supplements actually contain phenylethylamine hydrochloride. Phentermine and phenylethylamine are similar compounds, but are not one and the same. Below are some of the major differences and basic similarities of the two drugs.

The weight loss pill Fastin used to have phentermine hydrochloride as its active ingredient; however, this older version of the Fastin pill was taken out of the market in the late 1990s. Hi Tech Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a pharmaceutical company in Georgia, was able to acquire the rights for this drug. The company altered the drug, making it even better. The present version of Fastin now contains phenylethylamine hydrochloride and its derivative, such as methylsynephrine and methylphenylethylamine, as the active ingredients. No more phentermine hydrochloride!

Since phentermine hydrochloride was changed to phenylethylamine hydrochloride, there are a number of differences that have been seen. First of all, phentermine is a controlled substance according to the FDA, while phenylethylamine is not. The substance phenylethylamine is actually present in certain foods and in the body. Thus, the newer version of Fastin by Hi Tech Pharmaceuticals is classified as an over the counter nutritional supplement. On the other hand, drugs that contain phentermine hydrochloride are prescription medications. Because of this, Fastin weight loss supplements are more accessible than phentermine pills. You do not need to go to your physician anymore in order to buy the supplements.

Aside from the use of prescriptions, there are also several properties in which the 2 pills are different. Both phentermine and phenylethylamine act on the brain, stimulating it to produce special substances that control the individual’s appetite. However, phenylethylamine hydrochloride has additional properties. It increases the metabolism of the body, thus producing heat and helping burn fat more effectively. Fastin weight loss supplements also have the added effect of elevating the individual’s mood. Also, by changing the active ingredient of the drug, Fastin weight loss supplements are able to produce fewer side effects, specifically less jitters. The dose is also different for the 2 products. Typically, phentermine is taken once a day, before breakfast. Meanwhile, the usual dose of Fastin is 1 2 tablets in the morning and another tablet after lunch.

Although there are some major differences between the 2 versions of Fastin weight loss pills, there are also a lot of properties that have remained the same. Both Fastin and phentermine pills produce a decrease in the individual’s appetite, making the 2 medications very useful in the short term treatment of overweight conditions. Aside from this, both Fastin and phentermine pills have similar side effects. They can both cause adverse reactions in individuals that have certain medical conditions and can also interact with other medications. Do not take Fastin supplements or phentermine pills with other weight loss medications. Also, the prices of the pills are generally in the same range; taking both Fastin and phentermine typically costs $3 to $5 a day.
